Haven Children’s Foundation

One of the fundamental pillars of Fondazione Italia Uganda is to continue the work of its founder following the model that he himself created: building stable and independent communities, investing above all in the role of young people in this process. The work left in inheritance by Father John is therefore much more than the simple walls he built during his missionary activity, it is a work that shows a path.

Following that path, Fondazione Italia Uganda decided, one year after the death of deacon Giorgio Giampietro (March 23, 2018), to donate € 36.500 to the association he founded in 2015: Haven Children’s Foundation. This organization deals with vulnerable children such as orphans, street children, refugees, disabled and HIV-positive children and operates in north-west Uganda, in Nyapea, where Giorgio Giampietro spent his life as a missionary. Through this donation Fondazione Italia Uganda will support the studies of these children, following the model left by Father John: to take care of those who are the most vulnerable, always putting children first.
