CAR programme

CAR (acronym of Charity, Autonomy, Resilience) is a programme of poverty reduction that aims at guiding towards personal autonomy 200 families. The target population of the programme is made up of families in conditions of vulnerability living in Kampala, with children in school age. This choice has been taken with the aim of giving economic support through the education of kids.
Aside from the educational support toward kids in the family, the programme seeks to enhance resilience and economic resources for the heads of the families (who, in more than 90% of the cases, is the sole mother) through the granting of a small business capital that allows them to become self-employed.
